Ka Chanh Waterfall

Ka Chanh Waterfall is a picturesque cascade set within lush forest about 5 kilometers from Banlung town in Ratanakiri province, making it one of the more accessible natural attractions in the provincial capital's immediate surroundings. The fall drops in a single curtain over a laterite and sandstone ledge into a clear pool ideal for swimming, sheltered by a canopy of tall dipterocarp trees that keep the atmosphere cool and shaded even in the dry season. A distinctive wooden suspension bridge spans the river just above the falls, offering a dramatic view of the drop below. The surrounding riverbanks have picnic shelters popular with Cambodian families on weekends. The trail from the road follows the river upstream through forest where butterflies and small birds are frequently encountered.
