Tatai Waterfall
About
Tatai Waterfall is a wide and powerful cascade on the Tatai River in Koh Kong province, one of the most accessible natural attractions in Cambodia's southwestern corner and a highlight of any visit to the Cardamom Mountain region. The waterfall drops in a broad crashing tier across the full width of the river channel, and during the wet season from June to November it becomes an impressive torrent of white water flanked by dense rainforest. In the dry season the flow decreases but swimming in the pools below the main fall remains popular. The site is reached by a combination of road travel and a short boat trip upstream from the Tatai river bridge area. Several eco-lodges and floating bungalow resorts operate on the river in the immediate vicinity, offering overnight stays within earshot of the falls.
