Koh Rong Island
About
Koh Rong is Cambodia's second-largest island, located roughly 25 kilometers off the coast of Sihanoukville in the Gulf of Thailand. With 43 kilometers of coastline encompassing over 20 named beaches, it is renowned for its pristine stretches of white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water, and vibrant coral reefs. Long Beach on the western shore is widely considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Southeast Asia, extending 7 kilometers with barely a building in sight. The island is also famous for bioluminescent plankton that illuminate the shallow water at night with an ethereal blue glow. Beyond the beaches, the interior features dense jungle, wildlife trails, and small fishing villages where traditional Cambodian island life continues largely undisturbed.
