Kulen Waterfall
About
The Kulen Waterfall is the largest and most popular waterfall in Siem Reap province, tumbling in two dramatic tiers over a wide sandstone shelf on Phnom Kulen into natural pools below. The lower cascade, roughly 8 meters tall and 15 meters wide, empties into a broad swimming pool that draws Cambodian families and visitors on weekends throughout the dry season. The surrounding riverbed is lined with carved lingas and Sanskrit inscriptions from the Angkor period, giving the sacred stream additional historical significance. Above the falls, a calmer upper pool with clear water offers a more tranquil swimming area. Towering trees shade the riverbanks and the forest atmosphere makes the site feel both peaceful and remote despite its accessibility.
