Elephant Valley Project
About
The Elephant Valley Project is an ethical elephant sanctuary and community conservation initiative located in the highlands near Sen Monorom in Mondulkiri province, established to provide rescued working elephants with a life free from riding and performance. The project allows a limited number of visitors per day to spend time observing the elephants in their natural forest habitat, walking alongside them through the jungle, watching them forage, bathe in streams, and interact socially with other herd members. There is no riding, no chains, and no shows. The surrounding forest covers several hundred hectares of Mondulkiri highland and supports significant wildlife. Local Bunong indigenous community members serve as elephant caretakers and guides, sharing their traditional knowledge of elephant behavior and the forest environment.
