Otres Beach

Otres Beach is a laid-back stretch of coastline located south of central Sihanoukville, historically favored by backpackers and long-stay visitors seeking a calmer alternative to the busier town beaches. Divided into Otres 1 and Otres 2, the beach runs for several kilometers with soft pale sand, shallow surf, and reliable sunset views over the Gulf of Thailand. Otres 1 has a relaxed strip of guesthouses, beach bars, and seafood restaurants operating at a gentle pace, while Otres 2 transitions into more natural undeveloped shoreline. The sea here is generally calm during the dry season, making it suitable for swimming and paddleboarding. Despite rapid development elsewhere in Sihanoukville, Otres retains a relatively mellow atmosphere compared to the busier resort areas.
