Artisans Angkor
About
Artisans Angkor is a Cambodian social enterprise founded in 1992 with the mission of preserving and reviving traditional Khmer craftsmanship by training and employing artisans from rural communities around Siem Reap. The main workshop in central Siem Reap offers free guided tours where visitors can watch skilled craftspeople at work carving stone and wood, gilding lacquerware, weaving silk on traditional looms, casting bronze, and applying delicate silver work. The on-site boutique sells high-quality handmade products at fair-trade prices, providing artisans with sustainable livelihoods. A second workshop at Chantiers Ecoles near Angkor Wat complex focuses on stone carving. All products are certified authentic and proceeds fund the continued training of hundreds of apprentices annually, making every purchase a direct contribution to Cambodia's living cultural heritage.
