War Museum Cambodia

The War Museum Cambodia in Siem Reap is an open-air and indoor museum dedicated to documenting the decades of armed conflict that shaped modern Cambodia from the 1960s through the 1990s, covering the Vietnam War spillover, the Khmer Rouge era, and the subsequent civil war period. The museum's extensive outdoor yard is filled with tanks, artillery pieces, rocket launchers, armored vehicles, and military aircraft in varying states of decay and preservation, all collected from actual battlefields across the country. Indoor galleries display small arms, mines, uniforms, propaganda materials, and photographic records. Former soldiers from different sides of the conflict serve as volunteer guides, sharing first-person accounts of their experiences that bring the historical artifacts into vivid and sobering human context.
