Vipassana Dhura Pagoda

Vipassana Dhura Buddhist Meditation Center is a large and architecturally striking modern pagoda complex situated at the base of Oudong Mountain in Kandal province, serving as one of the most important Buddhist meditation retreat centers in Cambodia. The compound features an enormous main vihara hall decorated with vivid murals depicting scenes from the Jataka tales and the life of the Buddha, flanked by gilded towers and immaculately maintained gardens. A large standing Buddha statue and an elaborate decorative gateway mark the entrance to the complex. Monks and laypeople from across Cambodia come here to undertake periods of silent Vipassana meditation under the guidance of resident teachers. The center welcomes respectful visitors interested in Cambodian Buddhist practice, architecture, and religious art.
